Our Operations

Medicine, dermatology, and rheumatology is a field with combined expertise and highly specialized care in the areas of endocrinology-diabetes, nephrology, gastroenterology, skin and sexually transmitted diseases, rheumatology, and internal medicine. We have about 750 employees and provide care in the form of inpatient care, day care, outpatient services, and dialysis.

Dermatology Section's Operations

The section for skin and sexually transmitted diseases consists of a dermatology and venereology clinic, an occupational dermatology clinic, a dermatology ward, and a day care unit. Our mission is to investigate, diagnose, care for, and treat skin and sexually transmitted diseases. The most common diagnoses we treat are psoriasis, eczema, and various forms of skin tumors. We have several specialties such as laser treatments and have been assigned by the National Board of Health and Welfare to provide highly specialized care in the areas of severe skin symptoms and genodermatoses. At the dermatology clinic, we have about 10,000 doctor visits per year. Working with us involves both ward and outpatient work as well as consulting during the day. We also conduct a lot of teaching within the organization.

Your Mission

As a senior consultant, you have expertise in skin lymphoma both within the section and towards other parts of the region and the country at large. In your role, you will represent this activity within the section and be responsible for the clinical work as well as for educational initiatives towards already qualified and future colleagues. You also have specialized knowledge about leg ulcers, pigment lasers, and familial melanoma. You will also be expected to conduct development and/or research work within your areas of expertise. The assignment primarily includes working in the outpatient clinic, but there may also be work in inpatient care and consulting. You will also mentor residents and participate in teaching medical students.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for a specialist physician in dermatology and venereology. You have broad clinical experience in dermatology, preferably from working in a hospital setting. We expect that in your current position you have one or more areas of responsibility that include skin lymphoma, leg ulcers, pigment lasers, and familial melanoma, and that you conduct both clinical work and have experience in lecturing in this area. As we are a university hospital, we want you to have an interest in research and/or teaching. You have experience mentoring residents and medical students. We also want you to have the ability to inspire change and development.

Your Competence

The work requires significant interaction with all colleagues in the section, and therefore good collaboration skills and humility are valuable traits for succeeding in the role. You have good communication skills, a strong pedagogical ability, and an interest in mentoring and development. Your ability to create participation and engagement is strong. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability during the appointment.
